AV RECEIVER

The SR-9600 is simply the best surround receiver we offer. It surpasses the performance levels

of even separate components in both sheer brawn and subtle sophistication. THX Ultra2

certification – and power output of 140 W RMS from each of its seven current-feedback amplifiers

– means the SR-9600 will recreate the sonic impact of dynamic movie soundtracks in the largest

rooms. Intelligent cooling assures long term stability even under demanding conditions. Analog

preamp circuitry features wide-band HDAM-SA2 modules. The oversized power supply include

a toroidal transformer and Marantz-designed storage capacitors for quick response to rapidly

varying sources. Dual 32-bit microprocessors handle surround decoding and 9-band parametric

M.R.A.C. adjustments with outstanding speed and accuracy. Two AM / FM tuners let you listen

to different stations in different areas of your home. Connectivity includes IEEE 1394 and a

Marantz-optimised version of HDMI for accurate data transfer and software upgrade capability.

The high definition display makes control and adjustment easy. Dolby Headphone produces a

private, natural, non-fatiguing surround experience. An RS-232 port and 4 programmable 12 volt

‘triggers’ let the SR-9600 function in virtually any custom-designed home theatre system

Marantz has been ready for the Audio-Visual revolution since 1953. That was the year we launched our first

prototype, the Model 1 Pre-Amplifier. It featured seven inputs, including one labelled for TV Audio! You

see, even way back then we were encouraging a generation towards more complete home entertainment.

Dolby-developed AC-3, or ‘Dolby Digital®’, is the latest step toward realistic sound in the home. All

Marantz AV Receivers incorporate Dolby Digital EX®, DTS-ES® and DTS Neo:6® decoding, in addition to

Dolby Pro Logic IIx®. For even clearer centre channel processing, they feature a Home Theatre Equalisation

function (HT-EQ). All models feature seven Discrete Amplifiers with a wide-band frequency of 10 Hz to

100 kHz, ensuring compatibility with SACD and DVD-Audio.

We have created the purest and most emotionally intense Multi-Channel experience by paying painstaking

attention to signal paths, and an anti-resonant construction. The result is powerful seven channel amplifica-

tion for the latest-generation surround sound decoding standards.

UNLEASH THE POWER

The power ratings on all Marantz AV Receivers are stated as the industry standard 8 Ohms RMS. This is

done to prevent any confusion that may arise.

The flagship SR-9600 THX Ultra2 model features seven Discrete Amplifiers capable of delivering 140 W of

continuously clean and stable power. A massive super ring toroidal power transformer, oversized filter capaci-

tors and current feedback circuits are all used to preserve the wide dynamic structure of music and movies.

EXPERIENCE THE EMOTION

All digital, analog and control circuits in the SR-7500, SR-8500 and SR-9600 models are separated and exten-

sively shielded in their own enclosures to prevent cross-talk and other unwanted interference. Independent

power supplies are used for the front panel display, audio and video sections.
