Controlling an S2000 SoundServer over IR with a Multiroom

Control System

We shall define several notional controllers and describe how each could control the S2000. A diagram

of a keypad will show what commands to learn on what button.

Example 1

With a keypad this simple it is very difficult to control the S2000 in conjunction with its TV user interface.

Blind Control

•

Learn the Sony IR code for DISK underneath the relevant Source button. This will start to play

Alphabetical Album 1

•

Learn the Sony IR codes for PLAY, STOP, NEXT DISK and PREVIOUS DISK onto the

relevant buttons

This means that you will always start playing the first alphabetical album upon selecting the S2000 as a

source. The user then has to navigate up and down the albums to get t the desired album.

UI Control

•

Learn the UI specific DEFAULT OUTPUT command underneath the relevant Source button

•

Learn the UI specific UP and DOWN buttons underneath the Next and Previous Buttons

•

Learn the UI specific SELECT button underneath the PLAY button

•

Learn the UI specific PAUSE button underneath the STOP button

This means you can browse the list of Albums, Artists, Genres or Playlists and Select the album to Play.

Use the pause command to pause and restart playback. Alternatively, do not stop playback. Simply
