Imerge Product Training – Control – IR –S2000 Page 4 of 31
The remote control handset provides ‘Universal’ functionality i.e. multi-device control. The device to be
controlled is determined by the ‘device’ keys in the top row, providing for the following devices:
•
SoundServer
•
TV
•
Amplifier / AV Receiver
The handset functions in a typical manner for a Universal handset i.e. the device to be controlled is
selected by pressing the appropriate ‘device’ key; subsequently all keys on the remote generate
commands for that device until a different device key is pressed.
The user is able to reprogram the remote so that the volume controls (up, down and mute) of one device
(e.g. the SoundServer) can be used to control the volume of another (e.g. the Amplifier).
The SoundServer device can be programmed with a number of different codes, dependant on the
required user operation:
•
RC5 codes for direct control of appliance
•
NEC codes, with embedded output identifier for direct control of appliance (library codes 001
through 003) and also direct ‘blind’ control of a specific output of the appliance (library codes
101 through 103)
The Hand-held Remote control generates a unique set of IR codes for each output that it can be
programmed to control. In order to change output, the following sequence should be followed:-
•
On the handset, hold down the HDD AUDIO and SELECT keys for 5 seconds
•
The HDD LED remains lit to indicate that it is in output programme mode
•
Enter the numeric code for the zone selection (3 digits) , and then hit the Menu/Zone key again
o
000 – RC5 Factory Default – TV GUI control
o
001-003 – NEC output specific commands – TV GUI flips to match output being
controlled
o
101-103 – NEC Blind Control TV GUI unaffected
•
Press HDD AUDIO, the LED will blink twice
•
If an error occurs, the menu is not pressed within a timeout period (5 seconds), then
programming is aborted, and previous zone selection is retained
The TV device can be programmed with codes from a worldwide library of TV sets. Programming is
carried out in a similar manner to the SoundServer device.
•
Simultaneously press TV and SELECT and hold for one second. The TV button lights for 20
seconds. The next step must be performed while the button is lit.
•
Enter the numeric code for the TV to be controlled (3 digits) and then press the TV button (key
3).
•
The LED blinks twice to indicate that the programme has been accepted. No blinking indicates
an error.
•
If the TV is switched on and the remote is pointed towards the TV during programming,
entering the correct code as above causes the TV to go into standby.
The Amp device can be programmed with codes from a worldwide library of Amplifiers / AV receivers.
Programming is carried out in an identical manner to the TV device.
